McKinney

McKinney Town SquareMcKinney Texas is the county seat for Collin County.  It is the second largest city in Collin County at over 131,000 residents. The town was incorporated in 1859.  During the first 125 years of it's existance McKinney was the commercial center of Collin County, but in the 1970's Plano passed McKinney in population due to its closer proximity to Dallas. As the area became less and less agriculture based the role of McKinney as a major agrigulture center was reduced.  McKinney has excellent schools and in 2010 was voted to Money Magazines top five places to live.  McKinney's town square has been re-developed and is an active part of the community.
